What's On The Table This Week

My menu planning doesn't always work out with whats planned, but I still end up better off for the planning. I was so busy last week I think the only thing I cooked was the Irish Champs and sausage. Of course since the leprechaun visited us, (He comes in the weee hours of the night and colors our milk green,) the Champs was green. LOL I also put way too much milk in the recipe. I had doubled it and did the same for the milk, then I had to cook it longer to heat some of the liquid away. Our exchange student is having a really hard time with the green milk. lol Picture below.

I have a little more time this week. I will do an omelet one day but I think we will declare this week SANDWICH WEEK.

Monday        Egg Salad Sandwiches
Tuesday        Chicken Salad Sandwiches
Wednesday   Omelet
Thursday      Grilled Cheese and Tomato Soup
Friday            Tuna Sandwiches
Saturday        I have no idea- nobody stays home to eat
Sunday           Hot Dogs, Chips, Macaroni and Cheese

Exchange Students - Hosting

Today I feel very sad. We only have two and a half months left with our exchange student. She is almost always smiling and I feel she brings - no I know she makes our days brighter with her upbeat attitude! Don't get me wrong she can get mad. Boy can she.
This last week has been another education to us about history.
She is in a history class at school and they are studying World War II. Our student is from a country that was liberated by Russia. She has enlightened us about the differences in what we and she perceives happened in history. We have had a few discussion about this topic and also the topic of mass destruction. It seems that there is a student in her class that feels the United States (If ever needed) should have no problem using weapons of mass destruction because the only thing that matters is the United States and its citizens. I really can't believe that my exchange daughter just sat there while she stated this. Of course, we got her anger here at home. She had a few words to say about this particular student. I had a few words to say about the instructor who said nothing. I feel that the instructor should at least have discussed that statement. I did make a call to the school and talked to the counselor about these topics. Just to remind the instructor that there are exchange students in the class. Mine is not the only one.

The exchange organization we host high school students through is CIEE

Sunday Coupon Inserts 3/20

This Sunday (3/20) there should be (2) inserts in your Sunday newspaper.
(1) SmartSource   -- 3/20 SS
(1) Red Plum  -- 3/20 RP
Plus the Courier Journal has a Kroger pull out that has coupons in it.
If you receive the Parade in your Sunday paper look for a $2 Claritin coupon!
If you are new to couponing label each insert with the date and initials (3/20 SS or 3/20 RP.) Everyone sorts differently. This works for me.

Kroger Insert With Coupons This Week

You may receive an extra insert with a few coupons in it courtesy of Kroger. The Courier Journal has a Kroger insert in the newspaper that has the above coupons on the back page of the insert!
