Exchange Students - Hosting

Today I feel very sad. We only have two and a half months left with our exchange student. She is almost always smiling and I feel she brings - no I know she makes our days brighter with her upbeat attitude! Don't get me wrong she can get mad. Boy can she.
This last week has been another education to us about history.
She is in a history class at school and they are studying World War II. Our student is from a country that was liberated by Russia. She has enlightened us about the differences in what we and she perceives happened in history. We have had a few discussion about this topic and also the topic of mass destruction. It seems that there is a student in her class that feels the United States (If ever needed) should have no problem using weapons of mass destruction because the only thing that matters is the United States and its citizens. I really can't believe that my exchange daughter just sat there while she stated this. Of course, we got her anger here at home. She had a few words to say about this particular student. I had a few words to say about the instructor who said nothing. I feel that the instructor should at least have discussed that statement. I did make a call to the school and talked to the counselor about these topics. Just to remind the instructor that there are exchange students in the class. Mine is not the only one.

The exchange organization we host high school students through is CIEE
